What I Did
I have been teaching Kid Gardening for the last two years at St. Patrick Catholic in Norfolk ,VA.
I have use the Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew.
It is the best book that I have ever read.
I am a Norfolk Master Gardener, Graduated in the class of 2007.
The after hour club called Little Sprouts. The club is from pre K to 3 rd grade. We try to hold the class to 12 students, and try to have 3 adults to keep the children to 4 each which allows for full attention. With the Square Foot garden, we can grow more in the small area verses a 20 foot row. Could go on for a few more pages, however have to close for no

The Kids Love the Garden and some feed back... they go home and tell their parents.
One little Sprout after we harvested Potatoes, ask it they could have a potatoe to take home ? Said YES. They wanted to show their Daddy as he thought they came from the Super Market.

Lessons Learned
- Should have started sooner..
- Kids learn fast no mater what age.

Teach Gardening using the Square Foot Gardening.
