What was the Plant(s)?
Hostas, Corepsis, Potato Vine, Scotch Broom, Cannas, Day Lilies, Morning Glories, Blue Fescue ornamental grass,Ice Plant, Coleus, Trumpet Vine. All of the rocks in my rock garden also have a story of where they each came from.
Who Gave it to You or to Whom Did You Pass it Along?
It's like "Pay it Forward" with plants. The history and goodness of each plant lives on.....
What Memories or Stories Surround This Plant?
To me it's not about one plant as much as it is about the nurturing in my garden and then giving to someone else to continue it's extended life in another garden. We can go to any garden store and make the garden look beautiful overnight. To me it's more about the process of where the plant came from and how well we nurtured them. My daughter and son-in-law just recently bought a home and I was so happy to be able to help them set up their garden and brought over some of my plants for them. In the fall I will split some others so they can continue her own garden story and save money all at the same time. Patience though is essential, patience to wait and see the fruits of your labor and love.
Advice
- "Plant It Forward"!
- Share plants as much as possible...it keeps us "green", no container waste. I use wet newspaper to keep roots wet in transport. I also re-use any of the containers I already have. We save money all around, when we get plants and when we receive them. More importantly my garden lives on and becomes somewhat "immortal".
