This was our first monthly photo challenge here at About.com Gardening. Thank you to everyone who submitted a photo. The theme was Unusual Containers. That was a pretty broad topic and we left it open to you to determine if it was the container or the plants it contained that was unusual.
Many of the submitted photos surprised us with their creativity. You definitely thought outside the container. The photos were judged by About.com Container Gardening Guide Kerry Michaels, Gardening Forum Moderator Scotty Harris and Gardening Guide Marie Iannotti. We had a very though time deciding, but the June 2009 Photo Challenge Winners are:
