At first glance, I thought this was a trumpet vine and I was surprised to see it in bloom so early. It turned out to be a plant I didn't know, but I'm glad I do now.
Shelby: Marie. that is the Bignonia, Cross Vine in bloom. Not as invasive as the Trumpet vine. My husband built me a teepea type arbor for it to climb on.
With the weather being so not normal, our flowers in the US don't know if it's time to come out or not. We have been lucky where I live in VA to not have any hard frost since things are coming out. I have noticed from my past years pictures that my flowers have all been two weeks earlier this year.
Scotty: We Northeners are used to spring being announced with crocuses and snowdrops but how about a touch of the exotic?I researched this vine and I'm right on the edge of its hardiness zone(6-9). I'm trying it.Beautiful.
Congratulations, Shelby!
