Geranium ‘Double Jewel’ has double white, star-shaped flowers with a contrasting splash of pinkish-purple in the center. You’ll need a double take to realize you’re looking at a geranium.
Bred by the Dutch hybridizer, Jan Verschoor, Geranium ‘Double Jewel’s’ other claim to fame is its truly compact habit. This tiny gem grows only 10" tall and is quite at home in a pot. The flowers stalks defy hardy geraniums’ tendency to flop and hold themselves straight up.
‘Double Jewel’ blooms even during the hottest months of the summer, prefering a bit of partial shade in hot, dry climates. It’s a great choice for porches and front steps, but don’t limit yourself to growing it in pots. As with most geraniums, Geranium ‘Double Jewel’ makes a wonderful edger or rock wall plant.
