When to prune a hydrangea and why doesn't my hydrangea bloom are two of the most popular questions I receive from gardeners. Thank goodness someone finally developed a hydrangea that blooms on new and old wood, so it doesn't matter when you prune it and you should get more blooms than you can count. Endless Summer® hydrangea was one of the first repeat blooming hydrangeas offered. The original Endless Summer® had flowers that were either pink or blue, depending on your soil pH. 'Blushing Bride' followed, with pink tinged white blossoms. We liked that too, so they kept making more.
Endless Summer® Twist-n-Shout™ is a reblooming lacecap hydrangea. The lacy centers are a deep-pink and the sterile flowers that surround them are again, either pink or blue, depending on the soil's pH. One of its parents is 'Lady in Red' and the stems retain mom's deep red color. The foliage is a glossy green until fall, when it changes to red-burgundy.
So many great hydrangeas, so little space.
