Echinacea 'Pink Double Delight' was developed in the Netherlands, by Dick and Frenk Maas. It's unique, to say the least. But I expect we'll be seeing more like 'Pink', down the line. The cone takes center stage here. A fluffy pink, instead of the common, spiky orange-gold. The swept-back pale pink petals look almost clipped. The flowers are about 3" across.

It's more of a pom pom than a cone, but as with all of the coneflowers in this gallery, it retains all of Echinacea's desirable traits. It blooms throughout the summer on short, sturdy, straight stems. The plant itself is well branched, so there are plenty of flowers at any given time.

Echinacea 'Pink Double Delight' is recommend for containers and would make an eye-catching specimen in any garden border.
