The Big Sky Series is the product of breeder Richard Saul and the ItSaul program. These Echinacea are crosses between Echinacea purpurea and Echinacea paradoxa, resulting in brilliant color, full, overlapping petals and multiple blooms.
How about this for vivid color? Rose red flower with a glowing red center disk. And it's fragrant too. Who needs roses?
The petals have a slight swept-back habit, more attitude than conformity. The individual petals are wide enough and overlapping, to give the flower a nice, full look. The plant is multi-branching and remains in bloom for weeks on end.
