Where Echinacea 'Twilight' showed restraint in toning down its orange color to russet, Echinacea 'Sunset' makes no apologies for being orange. It stands proud and brilliant and with its true orange petals and brown center disk, it's a perfectly coordinated color combo.

I hope gardeners get over their aversion to using orange in the garden. I challenge anyone to find a more stunning combination than the complementary colors of purple and orange.

Whatever your color preference, you'll never look at Purple Coneflowers the same again. I suspect this is just the beginning of what we'll be seeing. Hopefully, this trend toward low maintenance, well behaved perennials will continue.
