You call it maze. They call it an ornamental foliage plant.
I expect to see Maze 'Garden Leader Rainbow' in many gardens this summer. It's so striking, you have to try it. 'Garden Leader Rainbow' really is a corn plant and the small ears that mature at the end of the season share the foliage's festive colors. (There's no mention of the taste.) But 'Garden Leader Rainbow' is being marketed as an ornamental. The foliage starts out an unassuming green. After a few weeks of sun, streaks of red and cream turn the leaves tricolored and they remain so for the rest of the season. The stalks get to be about 4' tall. Grow in full sun for the best color. (Annual.)
