I'm mentioning Tomato F1 'Country Taste' because it's being touted as having "All the flavor of an heirloom with the hassle free growth of a hybrid!" I don't yet know if that's true, but I know some gardeners simply prefer hybrid tomatoes because they've had a lot of problems with fungus diseases in the past. I give the breeders a lot of credit for at least striving to develop a tomato with old-time flavor. You'll have to be the final judge.

'Country Taste' is a large slicing, fresh-eating tomato with fruits about 1 pound each. One pound is a nice single use size and these are indeterminate plants, so they should produce over a long season. The plants also display good disease resistance. (Harvest in 90 days.)

Seeds of Tomato F1 'Country Taste' are currently available from Park Seed Company. You can see more new vegetable varieties at the National Gardening Bureau website (www.ngb.org).
