2009 All America Rose Selections

From Marie Iannotti, About.com

The All-America Rose Selections (AARS), a non-profit association of rose growers and introducers, works to test, introduce and promote exceptional roses. New roses are trialed in a nationwide network of 20 test gardens. Emphasis is put on selecting characteristics that a home gardener would value. To make this meaningful, "New rose varieties in the AARS trials receive only as much care as would be given in the average home garden." and "Every AARS winning rose completes an extensive two-year trial program in these test gardens... representing all climate zones."

Three roses were named All America Rose Selections for 2009: Carefree Spirit™, a landscape shrub rose, Pink Promise, a hybrid tea that was selected to represent The National Breast Cancer Foundation and the vibrant Floribunda, Cinco de Mayo™ .
