2008 All America Rose Selections Winners

From Marie Iannotti, About.com

The All-America Rose Selections (AARS), a non-profit association of rose growers and introducers, works to test, introduce and promote exceptional roses. New roses are trialed in a nationwide network of 20 test gardens. Emphasis is put on selecting characteristics that a home gardener would value. To make this meaningful, "New rose varieties in the AARS trials receive only as much care as would be given in the average home garden." and "Every AARS winning rose completes an extensive two-year trial program in these test gardens... representing all climate zones."

Only 2 roses earned the title of AARS for 2008. They share common coloring, but are each unique in their own way. Dream Come True™ is a blushing yellow grandiflora rose with a mild tea rose scent. Mardi Gras is an easy growing floribunda rose that goes from yellow to orange to pink, with a mild peppery fragrance.
