Any gardener who remember the award winning rose 'Sutter's Gold' will love its latest descendant, 'Strike It Rich'. 'Strike It Rich' is a gorgeous deep golden-yellow swirled with red and the flowers hold their color as they age. And it smells as good as it looks, with a strong, spicy fragrance.
Grandifloras are a cross between a floribunda and a hybrid tea. They can grow up to six feet tall and produce the classic hybrid tea type flowers, but in clusters. The flowers of 'Strike It Rich' are double and informal flowers that are up to 5-inches in diameter. As with all this year's AARS award winners, 'Strike It Rich' shows great disease-resistance and good vigor, which is crucial if you rose garden organically. The flower stems are long and an unusual deep red in color.
