Osteospermum usually go by the much easier names of either Cape Daisy, Blue-eyed Daisy or African Daisy. Usually seed grown Cape Daisies result in a variety of colors, but 'Asti White' is the first variety successfully selected for just white flowers. The petals are a true icy white with a blue/purple center ring around the eye.

Osteospermum gained popularity in the 1990s because of their almost neon colors, including the blue tint of the center disks. They remained popular because of their drought tolerance and reliable flowering. Prior varieties of Osteospermum had the annoying habit of closing their flowers when it because overcast. 'Asti White' keeps blooming no matter what.

Osteospermum is also tolerant of light frosts, so you can plant them right after your pansies and they'll perk up in the fall and bloom for another season. They're also a nice choice for early and late season containers. Osteospermum F1 'Asti White' will be available as seed or bedding plants.
