Most gardeners have plants that have grown into each other and need to be divided or moved to another spot in the garden. Many times we'll plant the same plant in different colors right next to one another and not know which is which, except when they are in bloom.
If you want to be certain you move only the blue iris and not the white, the only sure way to do that is to label the blue iris plants while they are in bloom. Tie labels to the base of the plants so they don't fall off if the flower stem dries and snaps. Once labeled, you can wait until fall or even spring to dig them up. You won't have to try and remember which plants were which.
