What's new for the garden in 2006? That's a topic for multiple articles. But here's a handful of Green Thumb Award Winners selected by gardening professionals. A panel of independent garden writers and editors have culled the 2006 garden mail order catalogs and web sites to choose their picks for the top 5 plant, bulb or seed related products. The judging criteria took into account:
- Technological Innovation
- Uniqueness
- Ability to Solve a Gardening Problem or Provide a Gardening Opportunity
- Potential Appeal to Gardeners
The awards are sponsored by the Mailorder Gardening Association, the world’s largest nonprofit association of companies that sell garden products directly to consumers.
