Definition: A mixed border is a garden that combines, a variety of plant materials such as trees, shrubs, perennials, annals, roses, bulbs and grasses. Most gardens are mixed borders, although certain garden styles focus on using a particular type of plant. For example: Perennial Borders and Rose Gardens.
