Southeastern Flower Show - January 28 – February 1, 2009, at Cobb Galleria Centre 2 Galleria Parkway, Atlanta
Passion. How Do You Bloom? is the theme this year, with gardens and displays to inspire you. This show is a wonderful melding of gardens and music, with special evening events like: "Passionate for Puccini" and "Ignite Your Passion: Salsa in the Gardens".
Idaho
Boise Flower & Garden Show - March 20 - 22, 2009 at Boise Centre on the Grove
"Think Pink Go Green" is the clever theme of the "sustainable" outdoor oasis lobby garden that greets you. In addition to display gardens and vendors, the Bonsai Exhibition is back by popular demand, as well as Wine & Jazz Nights on Friday and Saturday. The Boise show has the U.S. Bank as one of its sponsors and they'll be there to talk with folks about how to get an equity line of credit to turn there yards into retreats.
Illinois
The Chicagoland Flower and Garden Show - March 7 - 15, 2009 at the Navy Pier, Chicago
Promising something for every level of gardener, this year there will be "hands-on in-the-soil, workshops on container gardening, planting and perennials". New features include: a Children's Activity Garden, Green Industry Initiatives and an Opening Night Preview Gala.
Kansas
Wichita Garden Show - March 4 - 8, 2009 at the Century II Civic Center
This year's theme is The "GIVING" Garden, and it's based around the idea that gardens can mean many things to many people and "Each garden GIVES what you want it to give by virtue of what you plant in it." So whether you're growing fruit trees or decorating an outdoor kitchen, there will be ideas and displays for you.
Massachusetts
Flower and Patio Show - February 27 - March 1, 2009 at the DCU Center- formally The Worcester Centrum
The Central MA Flower Show is now the Flower and Patio Show, which should tell you that there's something for everyone, no matter how much space you have to garden, from the waterfall building contest to the Go Green-Natural Flower Arrangements. The theme is "It's All About Spring" and none too soon.
New England Spring Flower Show
Presented by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society (MassHort), The New England Spring Flower Show is the oldest flower show in the U.S. But this year it's regrouping and there won't be a large spring show at the Expo Center. New Jersey
The Flower & Garden Show of New Jersey - Feb 12 - 15, 2009 at the NJ Convention and Expo Center
The theme of this year's show is "It's a Colorful World" and they're promising "rivers of color and fragrance". Guest speakers include Rebecca Kolls and Ralph Snodsmith. There's also "Growing Up Green", an "An interactive magical backyard designed to delight young children and their grown-ups." and Bouquet of the Day.
New York
GardenScape - March 12-15, 2009 at The Dome Center, just outside downtown Rochester
Often compared to the Philadelphia Flower Show, GardenScape has been listed in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal as 'one of the best flower shows in the country.' To try and encompass the vastness of garden delights, this year's theme is "Gardens of Eden – an Oasis for the Soul" and exhibits will evoke a sense of the natural and serenity.
CNY Blooms March 5 - 8, 2009 at the Convention Center at Oncenter, Syracuse.
CNY stands for Central New York and it is the CNY Nursery & Landscape Association that is sponsoring this show. The emphasis is on the environment and eduction, with competitions, local college participation, garden clubs and speakers.
CNY Blooms also has a partnership with the Food Bank of Central New York and proceeds from the preview party tickets go directly to the Food Bank. Throughout the show, the Food Bank will have their bins set up to receive non-perishable food items as well.
Capital District Flower & Garden Show - March 27 - 29, 2009 at the Hudson Valley Community College
This show is known for its excellent seminars and the opportunity for individuals and groups to familiarize themselves with the area's major growers.
North Carolina
Southern Spring Home & Garden Show - March 4 - 8, 2009 at The Park, (formerly the Charlotte Merchandise Mart)
They are continuing with the green living emphasis. This is an indoor/outdoor show, so you'll find everything from green buildings to growing food. Display gardens, workshops, vendors, Orchid, Bonsai and Ikebana Societies make sure that the Garden Showplace is well represented in this Home & Garden Show. The MGs will be hosting the Extension’s Successful Gardener Learning Center, so bring your questions.
