Definition: A flattened underground stem with fleshy, scale-like food storing leaf bases surrounding a center bud. The stem and leaves are not usually recognizable as such or often thought of in that way, but that is their function.
Also Known As: Corms, tubers and rhizomes are often grouped in with bulbs.
Examples: Examples of plant bulbs are onions and other alliums and lilies.
