How to Press Fall Leaves for Decorating and Crafts

Marie Iannotti
Don't think your Thanksgiving table has room for a centerpiece? How about decorating under the plates.

Send the kids out to collect some colorful leaves with interesting shapes, like maples, ginkos, oaks, sumac and ornamental grasses. You don't even have to dry or press them before using them as a table decoration. Let them air dry for a day, so they don't start to rot under the glass. Then spread them around your tablecloth and place the glass top from your table over them. No glass top? You can use a shear tablecloth, a clear plastic cloth or even a large piece of gauze.
