Plant Naming Quiz:  Latin is Greek to Me

The Latin names of plants, or taxonomy, needn't be taxing.  Many very good gardeners never bother learning Latin plant names.  And some gardeners think the Latin names of plants just aren't as descriptive as the common names. What could be more colorful than Bleeding Heart or Red Hot Poker?

But Latin plant names are not without their rhymes and reasons. If you pay attention, you'll start to see similarities between names and characteristics.   You know pendula means hanging and alba means the plant will have some white in it,  somewhere.
