Garden Design - Focal Point Photo Gallery

Choosing a garden focal point can be a bit more difficult than decorating a room, because you often start with a blank slate. There are no walls, doors or windows outlining the garden. Sometimes you can take your cue from pre-existing features in your yard, like a large tree on one side that needs to be balanced or an air-conditioning unit you want to hide.  You might want your focal point to be framed from inside a window. Practical matters can also play into placement and choice of garden focal points. The desire for seating within a garden creates focal points with benches, tables and chairs.  That can be kept simple or played up, as with this colorful pair that can't help but take center stage.
