Like many of you, I've never really considered lawn care gardening, but I do like the way the lawn offsets that garden. I'm not so keen on maintaining my lawn and there are often more weeds than grass in it. My theory is "If it's green, it can stay." Unfortunately, weeds grow at different rates, so there are times when my lawn looks, well... weedy. On the plus side, the clover I over-seeded with stays green during dry spells, when the grass doesn't.
As our lawn Guide, Kelly Burke puts it, it's all about expectations. Here are Kelly's tips for having a lawn that doesn't siphon off time and money that could be better spent elsewhere - without having it look abandoned.
