Yesterday was Blue Monday. Maybe I wasn't aware of this fact because I belong to the group of workers who "....are happier in their jobs than any other group of workers, according to research by City & Guilds." I learned this from the Royal Horticulture Society, when I took part in their social media campaign, Office Culture versus Horticulture. (#OfficeVHorticulture) We were all to tweet about the things we love most about our work and advice for those who might like to work in the field. My favorite tweet was "I'm just about to eat my work." (@peterwrapson)
It's probably not surprising, but "nearly 80% of under-25-year-olds are not interested in a career in horticulture". I say, give them time. A few years in a cubicle is a great learning experience. And to my second favorite tweet of the day for Blue Monday, "we must remember the blues we DO like.." (@HarrietRycroft). Yes, indeed.
