Keeping My Scented Geraniums Happy

By , About.com GuideDecember 30, 2012

Follow me on:

Scented geraniums are embarrassingly easy to grow. I've had the same plants, or cutting of them, for almost 20 years. They're strange little creatures Their flowers aren't terribly showy, and even their lacy leaves are that unusual. It's the way they mimic the fragrance of other plants, like roses, lemons and mints, (sometimes out-doing the originals) that makes them such an obsession. Come on now, confess. How many of you are closet obsessive's about growing scented geraniums?

My only qualm with scented geraniums is they tend to drop their leaves, while they are indoors for the winter. I water them regularly and they're growing fine, but they're messy. Do yours do this, too?
