I've developed a real fondness for succulent plants. I read "Succulent Container Gardens", by Debra Lee Baldwin, and I was off and running. Most succulents are not hardy in my area - or most areas, for that matter - but they are so fascinating, I either grow them as annuals or bring them indoors for the winter. I especially love the charming quirkiness of the Senecio plants 'String of Pearls' and 'Blue Chalk Plant'.
I'm delighted to see more of all kinds of succulents being offered for sale in garden centers. I don't think I could afford to mail order them every year. If you're looking for some elegant, attractive and extremely drought tolerant plants for your garden or containers, take a peak at these.
