Yes, it's officially fall in the northern hemisphere at 10:49 est. Well, you knew it was coming. But don't throw in the trowel just yet. Take advantage of the mild weather to get a head start on next season - whenever that may be.
It's the perfect time to remove any diseased foliage. Harvest your herbs before frost. Protect plants from winter grazing. Get it out of the garden now, so that problems don't linger into spring. Your garden will look that much the better for it too. It's also the perfect time to make sure your cold frame is ready to go when you need it next spring. (Or to build one if you forgot about it during your busy summer.)
By the way, I can't find when the first day of Spring is, in the Southern Hemisphere. Can one of you let me know? I want to garden vicariously with you.

“It’s Fall! Get to Work.”
You are so bossy.Get to work yourself.I’m resting. The sky is blue and a nice cool breeze is blowing.
Tomorrow I’ll harvest some winter squash and I still have some toms, peppers, onions, chard and herbs going strong.
Now,I’m taking a nap.
Thanks, Tracy. There were several different dates given, when I searched. Glad to hear Spring starts today. Enjoy!
Scotty, good thing I didn’t read your comment until this morning. (I was outside working.) I might have had to run the leaf blower under your window for a few hours.
Gosh, I hope there are still some vegetables left in your garden. It’s not wise to advertise all that’s available and then announce that you’ll be sleeping. You just never know, do you?
