For most people, Labor Day means a day off, parades and barbecues. For gardeners, it means the start of lawn care season. I'll admit, I don't pay much attention to the lawn. I mow it to within a ½ inch of its life and if a weed is green, it can grow. But I love my little patch of green and this year I'm planning to overseed with a low mow mix and add some much needed lime. I'll also walk through lawn guy Kelly Burke's Fall Lawn Care Check List. The better my lawn looks, the better the gardens it frames will look.
