It seems like a lot of thoughts are turning toward amending garden soil. I've been getting questions about buying soil and compost in bulk. It's a good idea, when you want to amend a large area or fill new raised beds. Bulk soil is a lot cheaper than most people expect and you can usually find a much better product than in the bags at the garden center. Plus you don't have to drag home and tear open dozens of dirty plastic bags.
If you are thinking of buying in bulk, here's what I look for in a great soil and some questions to ask the folks making it. Buying Soil and Compost in Bulk
