You can't here the title of Clement Clarke Moore's poem, "Twas the Night before Christmas", without launching into the rest of poem. It's a part of every Christmas and the older you get, the more it sticks in your head. Here are some variations created by clever gardeners that I thought you might enjoy. Merry Christmas Eve!
Gardening without Skills
'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the yard,
Not a veggie was growing, not even the chard.
The Green Mountain Gardener
T'was the night before Christmas and under the snow,
Perennials now dormant were waiting to grow.
The Hortiholic
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the yard,
Not a plant was left standing, the ground it was hard.
Metro DC Lawn and Garden
'Twas the week before Christmas, and all through the yard,
not a gift had been given, not even a card.
Natorp's Garden Stores and Landscape
'Twas the night before Christmas and all thru the yard,
the branches were bare - the ground frozen hard.

A challenge for next year to complete the whole poem. Great starts.
Pam, these are just the links. They actually did write whole poems. But if you do write one of your own, please, let us see it. I love these.
