We've had wild weather for much of the summer and I'm curious to see what the fall will bring. September gardening can mean cool, crisp nights or hot, hazy, Indian summer days. Either way, there's no time to rest. Short season gardens need to be put to bed. Warmer zones are starting a whole new growing season. Even the southern hemisphere is back in the gardening groove. So here are some monthly gardening tips to get you back out in the garden this September.

Here in Eastern Utah it has been like someone turned off summer and turned on fall. Sure perked up the veggies-we have corn by the bushel, cabbages, tomatoes, etc. i LOVE OUR GARDENS!!!
As part of my fall prep, I’m going to send a soil sample to be tested so I know what types of amendments I need to add now. This way they will have plenty of time to be absorbed into the soil before next spring.
That’s a good tip. We used to get a lot fewer soil test requests in the fall, than in the spring. So you get your results faster.
