Favorite Gardening Sayings

By , About.com GuideJune 17, 2011

Follow me on:

I am not one of those people who get offended when someone visiting my garden bends down to pull a weed. My garden visitors can pull all the want. So this is one of my favorite garden signs. I just wish it were larger - maybe something that could be seen from the road.

I'm always curious about the signs people put in their gardens. I tend to gravitate toward the humorous. Another one I love is "Trespassers Will be Composted", especially since I live near an elementary school playground. What signs do you have posted in your garden? Any favorite sayings that you'd care to share with us?

My favorite that I saw in a friend’s garden was “Garden of Weeden.”
I’ve been on the look out for some old fashioned tin signs to hang on the new fence near the chicken coop with some witticism about eggs or hens, but they are hard to come by.
