Well when you think about it, what ornamental is more attractive than a head of 'Merlot' lettuce. If we're going to get all excited every time they come out with a new Heuchera, lettuce deserves no less respect. Alright, I wouldn't waste my lettuce edging the flower beds when I know very well the rabbits will clean me out over night. I use lettuce to border my flower beds all the time. Of course mine doesn’t look as pretty as the display at the garden shop, but I try!
Aldea, do you harvest that lettuce? And how long does it hold up for you?
I like to eat lettuce, but I never have an idea to grow it in my garden…
