Gardening Question of the Week: What Plants Would be Good for Planting Letters, Words and Pictures?

Thursday December 4, 2008
raychael left a post on the About Gardening Forum, asking for suggestions of plants to use for spelling out words. She worked with kids on a project where the younger kids planted their school initials in marigolds and the older kids laid out the whole school name in chives - which they kept pruned into a tiny hedge. She’s looking for suggestions of other types of plants that might work. They’d need to be compact and she’d like to be able to start them from seed. Have any of you tried this? Any ideas for raychael?
