Guide to Attracting Birds
Saturday November 29, 2008
I like being outdoors, even in the cold days of winter. If the sun is shining on the snow, you almost forget how cold it is. It’s pretty amazing that even in the dead of winter, when so many animals are asleep, there are birds in the garden. I was lucky to have several bird plants in my yard when I purchased it and I’ve since added more. Although I keep bird feeders full all winter, I can always hear a whole flock chirping away in the back hedgerow. If you’re wondering how to get more birds to homestead in your backyard or are looking for a great Christmas gift for a bird lover/gardener, David Beaulieu reviewed the book “The Audubon Society Guide to Attracting Birds” and gives it a thumbs up. At 466 pages, David says they do a wonderful in depth job of listing and explaining a myriad of ways to entice birds, no matter what your region. Before you rip out your Virginia Creeper and crabgrass, take a look at what David has to say about the Guide to Attracting Birds.
