Gardening in a Raised Bed
Wednesday February 13, 2008
One thing gardeners share in common, no matter what their climate, is the desire to squeeze more into whatever space they have and to have it grow for the longest season possible. That’s why I like raised beds. The ground warms and dries out earlier in the spring and you can plant every inch, because you’re not stepping on it. These are just two of the advantages of this old gardening practice that make it worth a second look, as we all gear up for another growing season. And creating a raised bed is not hard to do at all. In fact, once you’ve done it, it’s easier to maintain than a ground level bed.
