Oh No! Six More Weeks Before Gardening Season Begins!
Saturday February 2, 2008
Punxsutawney Phil somehow saw his shadow, despite the clouds, so we’ll have to be patient and wait another 6 weeks for spring. Gardeners know groundhogs can’t be trusted, so who knows? What we do know is that spring means all of Phil’s friends are going to surface and we’d best be prepared. Let’s be pro-active this year and take some advice from David Beaulieu, over at About Landscaping:

So sorry to hear about having to wait another six weeks Marie.
I planted 36-1gallon impatiens under the oaks in my backyard this afternoon. I’ll be happy to send some pics if you need a flower fix….haha I love living in Florida…sorry I just had to rub it in…Keep up the nice flow of good information….

To add insult to injury, it’s snowing here as I read your note. I plan to spend my afternoon under the grow lights, sniffing the damp potting soil. Sad, I know.
Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 1-gallon Impatiens plant. We usually get them in sorry little cell packs. I am jealous!
I am green with envy as I visualize one gallon impatiens. But at least I’m green!
