Is Lucky Bamboo Really Lucky?

Friday January 4, 2008
I can’t answer that for you, but I do know that it’s not really a bamboo. So called Lucky Bamboo is actually a Dracaena (Dracaena sanderiana) and anyone who’s grown other types of Dracaena as houseplants knows how easy care they are. Lucky bamboo takes this ease one step further by being grown in water. Short of an air fern, it doesn’t get much easier. About.com’s Guide to Feng Shir, Rodika Tchi, explains why lucky bamboo is considered lucky. Then Debbie Anderson shows how to "plant" lucky bamboo in her quick video. It’s a great start for a new year.
