Edible Flowers
Growing Flower for the Table

Saturday March 24, 2007
Pansies are about the only thing on sale now at nurseries near me. I love pansies, but it seems my rabbits, deer, voles and ground hogs feel the same way. It’s kind of ironic that gardeners get so upset when animals eat their flowers, but they’ll toss them into a salad for their friends. Of course, your friends don’t sneak in at night and eat every last flower in your garden.

Here are some suggestions of edible flowers you might want to grow for your own dining pleasure, including pansies and violas. Just keep them protected from visiting critters.
