Fall Flowers on the Cheap

Monday July 31, 2006
Is it too early to start thinking about planting for fall color. Is it too late? Well, that’s hard to say, because a lot depends on the weather and many of us have been experiencing a heat wave that isn’t too kind to plants. But as I mentioned this past weekend, there are deals to be had at the nurseries at this time of year. They don’t want to water all those left over plants. And David Beaulieu has some suggestions for getting the most out of fall colored annuals that the nurseries are practically giving away. They may not look like much now, but come fall, your garden beds will be vibrant if you plant flowers now for autumn colors.
