Garden Design in 2006

Friday January 27, 2006
Apparently gardeners, as a group, are getting tired. I guess that's one more thing we can blame on the Boomers. According to the Garden Media Group, gardens are being downsized. Gardeners want to spend more time enjoying their creations and less time toiling in them. I can appreciate that.

But what I found really interesting about garden trends for 2006, is that for once the top gardening trends don't involve keeping up with anyone else. We've finally realized that with gardens, as with clothes, it's OK to have our own style. No more competition for the newest Hosta, the flashiest Canna, the most imposing ornamental grass? We'll see.
