They Don't Call it Bittersweet For Nothing

Bittersweet berries have long been a favorite fall decoration, peeking out of wreaths, centerpieces and all sorts of holiday arrangements. There are actually several plants with the common name 'Bittersweet' and all have attractive berries. But there the similarities end. One's an exotic invasive, 'true bittersweet' came over with European settlers and another is a disappearing native.
